Why kidz love to visit us.

From the moment children walk in the door, they know they’re someplace special. Someplace fun. They’re greeted warmly and invited into our special reception room: a two-story Playscape play area modeled after Kinnick Stadium, complete with stadium seating for Mom and Dad!

Here at Iowa Pediatric Dental Center, we’ve created a dental office built for fun. Kidz enjoy a wide variety of activities in a sports-themed office complete with pictures and memorabilia, including a four-foot-tall Herky!

Once your child is seated in one of our comfortable dental chairs, we keep them relaxed with a funny joke and a hand to hold. Or a TV to watch their favorite movie or cartoon.

Our pediatric dental specialist is Dr. Don Peterson. Dr. Don and kidz are on a first-name basis with one another. Dr. Don is a father of four who
enjoys being around kidz and speaks their language. He’ll also use the latest numbing techniques to ensure his care is very gentle, including gentle squirts of “sleepy juice.” Plus after their visit, your child will get a prize for being such a good, brave patient.

We care for teenage smiles, too.

It’s not easy being a teen. You’re not a little kid anymore, but you’re not an adult yet, either. And regular dental care is crucial at this time if you’re going to have a bright, healthy adult smile.

So we make teens feel right at home. There’s a special waiting area called the Visitor’s Locker Room (with a PlayStation and GameCube), so teens don’t have to hang out with the little kidz. And they get the same friendly, gentle care that our smallest patients get.
